High Altitude Venus Operational Concept (HAVOC) is a proposed NASA study leading to the development of an evolutionary program for the exploration of Venus, with focus on the mission architecture and crewed floating inflatable vehicle concept for missions into Venus’s atmosphere.[1][2][3][4]HAVOC comprises a series of missions that would create a Venus colony in 5 steps:[5]
Phase 1: Robotic exploration into the Venusian atmosphere.
Phase 2: Crewed mission to orbit Venus for 30 days.
Phase 3: Crewed mission to Venusian atmosphere for 30 days.
Phase 4: Crewed mission to Venusian atmosphere for 1 year.
Phase 5: Permanent human presence in a floating cloud city in Venusian atmosphere.
